Peabody Court Hotel Selling Entire Contents Of Building

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- You could take home a piece of Baltimore's history.

Everything in the 14-floor, 104-guest room Mount Vernon Peabody Court Hotel is going up for sale, as the new owners renovate the building and liquidate the contents.

It's being called one of the largest garage sales in Baltimore. Thousands of historic pieces, including original fixtures, furniture and even carpeting and tapestries, will find new homes.

Many of the items were custom made for the hotel and definitely can't be found in a store.

"We're going to sell everything at bargain basement prices," says Claudia Miller, of International Content Liquidations. "You can fill up your dorm or your apartment."

The hotel was originally built as a luxury apartment building in the 1920s, but was later converted into a hotel and restaurant.

It has been nationally recognized for its historic significance.

The sale starts tomorrow at 10 a.m., and will continue for 21 days, or until the building is completely empty.

Admission is $5 for the first four days, and then free each day after that.
