Nearly 300 Southwest Flights Delayed, Canceled Due to Lingering Disruptions
BALTIMORE (WJZ)--Southwest Airlines is still having flight woes after their computer system malfunctioned this week.
Southwest tells WJZ they were forced to cancel nearly 300 flights Friday due to the lingering disruptions from Wednesday's computer problems.
Dozens of flights from BWI were either delayed or canceled. The airline says a computer router failure caused the system breakdown.

Southwest stated on their website Friday night that they had an unexpected uptick in cancelations due to mandatory Crew timeouts.
"Safety is our top priority and FAA regulations require mandatory rest--it is not safe for Crews to fly beyond the required time, and our Employees are understandably taxed working to get back on track from this unique situation."
The airline plans to run on a reduced schedule on Saturday.
"We are optimistic about our Operation tomorrow," said Southwest. "We have a reduced schedule on Saturdays. We expect some cancelations, but far fewer than we experienced Thursday and Friday morning."
