BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A lightning strike is believed to have sparked a two-alarm fire that destroyed an equestrian barn in Cecil County Saturday evening, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to the barn, located on Bunk Drive in Chesapeake City, about 6:15 p.m. where they found the building going up in flames, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.

It took 40 firefighters 90 minutes to get the flames under control.

No one was hurt and none of the horses had injuries.

The fire caused roughly $750,000 in damage and destroyed $250,000 worth of contents.
