Steve Davis: Ravens Getting Injured Players Back For Camp

The Ravens take the field Thursday and there will be more people ready to go than a lot of people thought.

The team announced who would start training camp on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list, and it's smaller than many expected. Suggs, Dumervil, Perriman and Steve Smith Sr. are the significant ones.

That means Flacco, Pitta, Jimmy Smith, Justin Forsett, Will Davis and Zuttah, who were among the 20 players that finished on Injured Reserve, will be ready to go with the rest of the team. That is huge news.

Flacco will probably not be turned loose like in other years, but this is excellent for an offense that is working in new players like Wallace and Watson. Plus, it will be interesting to see if Pitta is turned loose to see if he can handle the rigors and the violence of the game, or if they will protect him to try to keep him healthy for September.

Either way, to have this many of the injured players available is a good sign for the Ravens.
