Maryland Head Football Coach D.J. Durkin On The State Of Maryland Football

D.J. Durkin is the new Head Coach for football at the University Of Maryland.

Coach Durkin joined Ed and Rob to talk about what to expect from the Terps this season and beyond.

Coach Durkin started by talking about new defensive coordinator Andy Buh and what he brings to the team saying "Andy is a guy I worked with at Stanford for three years, we're very familiar with one another he's familiar with our scheme...he did a great job coming in the middle of the spring, we'll be multiple with our fronts and our coverage."

When asked about the freshman playing thins season Coach Durkin said "we're really excited about the freshman class that we brought in...I like their whole demeanor and attitude they've meshed with the team really well." As for the way the older players are responding to a new coaching staff Coach Durkin said "our veteran group has embraced change, we've done some things that make it difficult for them and they've responded."

Coach Durkin also talked about trying to build a different culture at Maryland and recruiting going forward for next year's team and beyond and trying to keep the best athletes in state.
