The Norris & Long Show Best Of - Week Of August 6th

This week's edition of the Norris & Long Show Best Of features interviews with Orioles General Manager Dan Duquette, and Orioles center fielder Adam Jones.

DAN DUQUETTE

The Orioles acquired Wade Miley from the Mariners saying, "We've been following him. We had a couple chances to get him along the way...but we're glad we got him. He's a professional pitcher and he's a work horse and pitches a lot of innings," said Duqette.

He continued to say, "We're just trying to do what we can to strengthen our club and get our team ready to advance to the playoffs. We're trying to stabilize our pitching staff, and we hope the addition of Miley, who's been a real productive starter over the course of his career, and there's not too many of these 200-inning pitchers around the industry and Miley's done that a couple of times. We have a chance for him to help us this year and we also have him next year and who knows maybe the year after."

ADAM JONES

Adam started off by talking about his offensive breakthrough and what caused it saying, "it's part of the game you have to go through it to get to it...it's something that you've done and you've done. I'm not a rookie, I'm a vet and I'll figure it out like I always do."

As for his approach at the plate lately Adam said, "I'm going up there and I'm letting it fly...the first pitch of the game, it's no secret I'm going after it, why wouldn't I?"

Dylan Bundy pitched a great game last night and Adam talked about what he's seen from Bundy saying, "the thing I've told him and everyone else has to have told him I'm sure was just go compete...last night the ball was coming out hot and the change-up was to."

Adam also talked about the atmosphere in Toronto, his involvement in the local community and his interaction with fans concerning culinary issues at stadiums.
