AACo. Police: 2 Women Sexually Assaulted After Accepting Rides From Strangers

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Police in Anne Arundel County are investigating after two women reported they were sexually assaulted by strangers they accepted rides from in the Brooklyn and Curtis Bay areas this week.

In light of the attacks, police are reminding residents not to accept or solicit rides from people they do not know.

Police do not believe the incidents are related.

About 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, the first victim got into a dark colored SUV with a middle-aged man near the corner of 4th and Washburn avenues in Baltimore, she told investigators. She said the man drove her to the corner of Cedar Hill and Snow Hill lanes near the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Brooklyn and sexually assaulted her.

The victim described the suspect in that case as a balding black male wearing glasses, who was between 30 and 40 years old and about 5-foot-7 with a stocky build. She said the suspect was wearing a light colored, short sleeve polo shirt with blue stripes, khaki shorts, and red and white Nike sneakers.

According to police, the second attack happened about 3:30 a.m. on Saturday. The victim told police the suspect, described as a white man in his late 30's with short blond hair and a beard, picked her up in an older model pickup truck with a silver toolbox near the corner of Fairhaven Avenue and Elmtree Street in Baltimore. She reported the suspect drove her to the corner of Stahl Pointe and Ordinance roads and assaulted her.

Anyone with information on either case is asked to call detectives at 410-222-4732. Those wishing to remain anonymous can also call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
