Northwest Baltimore House Fire Displaces Family

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A family is displaced after their Northwest Baltimore home went up in flames on Thursday evening, authorities said.

Crews were called to the scene, located in the 4400 block of Belvieu Avenue, about 5:45 p.m. where they found flames and heavy smoke coming from the one-story home, according to fire department spokesperson Sam Johnson.

Firefighters cleared the scene and got the flames under control in just 35 minutes, Johnson said.

No one was hurt, but the fire displaced one family and caused about $50,000 in damage.

The cause remains under investigation.
