24-Year-Old Dead In Elkridge After Camaro Hits Semi Head-On

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A 24-year-old Ellicott City man has died after his Chevy Camaro collided with a tractor trailer head on near Elkridge around 3:30 a.m. Monday.

The collision occurred on MD-100 between Snowden River Parkway and MD-103, according to Howard County police. The driver, Julio Cesar Grimaldo Gonzalez, was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes.

The Camaro caught fire after impact, and Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 2007 Chevy Impala also hit the tractor trailer after the collision, but the 50-year-old driver, Charles Kelley, was not injured.

The tractor trailer, a 2010 International Truck owned by Midwest Transport Inc., was driven by 51-year-old Juan Manuel Uribe of Roanoke, Va. He was the only person in the truck and also was not injured.
