Official: Towson Mall Visitors 17 And Under Must Be Accompanied By Adult

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- The Towson Town Center announced on Thursday that all mall visitors age 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult on Fridays and Saturdays in ordinance with their new "Parental Guidance Required Program".

The ordinance, which begins on September 16, goes into effect after 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturday, officials say.

"Everyone is welcome at Towson Town Center at any time – we simply require that during certain hours families spend their shopping time together," Lisa Bisenius, Senior General Manager of Towson Town Center.  "Providing a pleasant and comfortable experience for our guests is our top priority.  The PGR program is intended to enhance the shopping experience in ways the entire community will appreciate."

During the PGR hours, public safety officers will check the IDs of visitors who appear to be under the age of 18. If they are unable to provide a valid photo ID showing they are at least 18, they will be asked to leave.

"One adult may accompany up to four youths and all accompanied youth must remain with the supervising adult at all times," said an Towson Town Center officials in a news release. "Those who provide proper identification demonstrating they are at least 18 will be offered an optional wristband.  Individuals, who choose not to wear the wristband, may be asked for ID again by public safety officers patrolling inside the Mall.  Valid identification includes a state issued driver's license or ID card, a military ID, a school ID card, or a passport."
