BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police have identified the people who stabbed a 64-year-old man in broad daylight last week.
Police say Zannay Laws and Dakei Perry, both 18, attacked a man while he sat on bench reading near Wyman Park Dell last Monday afternoon.
Investigators say Laws admitted to recording the assault and streaming it live on Facebook. She and Perry are charged with attempted murder and armed robbery. Police are searching for a third suspect.
The victim said on September 13, a group of suspects between the ages of 16-20 years approached him. One sat beside him and asked if he knew of a business where they could exchange foreign money.
At the same time, another member of the group pointed a gun at the victim’s head. While the group surrounded him, he felt a punch to his back, and was maced.
Police say he was stabbed in his right arm and lower back.
They took about $60 in cash, a NorthFace backpack, his iPhone and his iPad.
After the robbery, they ran west on 29th Street toward Howard Street.
The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
Some evidence was recovered from the scene and taken to the Baltimore Police crime lab for analysis.
