39-Year-Old Man Left for Dead in Hit-and-Run Accident

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Baltimore City Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident that took the life of a 39-year-old man.

Around 8:50 p.m. Thursday, detectives believe Anthony Wayne was attempting to walk across the street at the intersection of Dundalk Avenue and Holabird Avenues, when a white Chevrolet van was traveling westbound in 6700 block of Holabird Avenue and then crossed into the eastbound lane and struck Wayne.  The van left the scene without stopping.

Wayne was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. A short time later, officers found the van parked in the 6200 block of Beckley Street.  The van was unoccupied and detectives are continuing to search for the driver or any other occupants who were inside.
