18-year-old Connected to Robberies and the Attempted Murder of Cop, Arrested

ODENTON, Md. (WJZ)-- Anne Arundel County Police arrested George Hunt Wednesday for theft and other offenses that occurred in July.

Officers served a warrant at Hunt's residence in Temple Hills, Maryland and arrested him.

On July 24, around 1:51 p.m, officers responded to the West Area 32 Apartment Homes, located in the 300 block of Baldwin Avenue in Odenton, to investigate a number of vehicles that had been broken into.

Detectives determined a silver Volkswagon Passat drove into the complex with four black males in the vehicle. The suspects removed property from several vehicles and left in the same car.

Investigators learned that earlier that same morning, a similar vehicle was involved in an attempted robbery and attempted murder of an off-duty Prince George's County Sheriff's Deputy.

On July 31, around 9:30 p.m., the same suspected vehicle was located by officers in Washington D.C. Police attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver sped away and then fled the car and was apprehended by police. Property from the Odenton thefts was recovered during his arrest.

This is still an active investigation and we are requesting that anyone with tips or information please contact Det. F. Bilbrey #1318 at the Western District at 410-222-8779.
