Orioles Steve Pearce Done For The Season, Needs Forearm Surgery

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Orioles outfielder Steve Pearce will undergo surgery to repair the flexor mass in his right forearm and will be sidelined anywhere from four to six months.

Pearce left last Monday's game and received an injection last week in hopes of avoiding surgery, but the Orioles placed him on the 60-day disabled list with a strained flexor mass in his right elbow to create a spot on the 40-man roster for Mancini.

His injury is a blow to the Orioles team that is currently in possession of one of the two wild card spots in the American League East.

The Orioles welcomed Pearce back to Camden Yards in early August after acquiring him from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for a minor leaguer.
