Police Double Reward for Man Wanted for Murder of Amanda Duer

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Howard County police have now doubled the reward for up to $10,000 for a man wanted for murder in July in Laurel.

Kenneth Frizzell Diggs, Jr. is  wanted in the fatal shooting of Amanda Duer at a Laurel motel and injuring a second victim.

An arrest warrant was issued for Kenneth Frizzell Diggs, Jr., 47, of no fixed address, for the murder of Amanda Duer, 29, of La Plata, and attempted murder of Derick Henderson, 33, of Washington, D.C.

Detectives are offering an increased reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to Diggs' arrest.

On July 2, Police were called to the Turf Motel in Laurel for a report of a shooting. Officers arrived and found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Duer was transported to Laurel Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Henderson was taken to Shock Trauma with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was treated and released from the hospital.

Investigators believe that Diggs and the victims knew one another and were involved in a dispute. Witnesses tell police Diggs entered the doorway of the victims' motel room and fired shots at both of them.

There is an arrest warrant for Diggs, who's charged with murder, attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment, burglary and firearms violations.
