Baltimore Beer Week is Back With a Cold One or Two

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ)-- If you like a cold one every once in a while, its your time of year, Baltimore Beer Week has arrived.

Baltimore's beer history is as thick as the foam on a Natty Boh. Friday marks the start of Baltimore Beer Week.

"We want people from all walks of life part of it and the history of brewing in Baltimore really relates to that" said Dominic Cantalupo, Baltimore Beer Week co-founder.

This local celebration is in its eighth year.

"Our timing was perfect in that the craft beer industry was just starting to grow up then and we kind of dovetail with it," said Joe Gold, Baltimore Beer week co-founder.

From the Pratt Street Ale House to the opening tap celebration at M&T Bank Stadium and tours of where beer was once brewed here.

"Speaking of history I will be doing a history tour walk in east Baltimore, in Highlandtown and Brewers Hill again this year," said Cantalupo.

Baltimore Beer Week actually lasts 10 days with three hundred events to choose from.

"And find a place you know, canton, federal hill and fells point. We've got events
in Highlandtown, Hampden and Remington. So its all over town," said Gold.

From craft beers of the present to a look at Baltimore's Brewing past.

"Beer brings us all together you can have the lowest person in life with the highest guy sitting there having a beer and that's what we want to do," said Cantalupo.
