Howard Co. Police: 2 Fighting In Roadway Struck, Killed

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Two people engaging in a physical altercation in the roadway were fatally struck on Saturday, according to the Howard County Police Department.

It happened around 11:14 p.m. on Washington Blvd.

Police say a 2002 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on Rt. 1 approaching Port Capital Drive when two pedestrians on the ground were struck.

Witnesses told police that the pair were involved in a physical altercation in the travel portion of the roadway.

Both pedestrians were pronounced dead after being transported to Shock Trauma.

Police have identified one of the victims as 18-year-old Delcy Martinez Hernandez, of Elkridge.

Police say the second victim who was killed was not carrying identification and they are seeking the public's help for assistance.

"The victim appears to be a black transgender individual in her early to mid 20's with shoulder length black hair and a wrist tattoo that reads "Sina. She may be from the Philadelphia area," police said in a news release.

The driver of the Honda was identified as a 22-year-old man.

No charged have have been filed at this time.
