Hagerstown Man Sentenced To Life For Killing Ex-Girlfriend

GERMANTOWN, Md. (AP) — A Hagerstown man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend in the parking lot of a Target in Maryland.

Donald Wayne Bricker Jr. was sentenced Thursday in the death of Mariam Adebayo of Germantown. Bricker shot Adebayo on June 1, 2015, during an argument in the parking lot of a Target in Germantown. A registered sex offender, Bricker shot Adebayo with an antique black powder replica gun which he ordered online. Adebayo was 24.

The 29-year-old Bricker spoke for close to an hour at his sentencing but did not apologize to Adebayo's family.

Judge Joseph Dugan told Bricker: "I don't see the remorse you talk about."
