Uber Driver Arrested For Kidnapping And Assault In College Park
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WJZ) -- An Uber driver has been arrested for kidnapping and assault in College Park.
Detectives say 29-year-old Westagne Pierre picked up the victim in Washington, D.C., the night of October 18.
Instead of dropping her off at her home in Virginia, investigators say Pierre drove the victim to a hotel in College Park. He then carried her into a hotel room.
Detectives say Pierre also used the victim's credit card a short time later.
Pierre was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 27. He's been charged with kidnapping, assault and for fraudulently using the victim's credit card.
Additional charges are pending.
