Suspects Sought In Deadly Baltimore Triple Shooting; 10-Month-Old Among Those Injured

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore Police are continuing to search for clues after three gunmen opened fire on a Northwest Baltimore home killing a man and injuring two others, including a 10-month-old baby.

It happened around 3:00 p.m. on Saturday in the 2800 block of Keyworth Avenue.

Baltimore Police say three suspects approached the home and shot  37-year-old Derrick Hickman in the chest and a 10-month-old infant in the leg.

As the suspects fled the scene, police say they say shot a woman in the shoulder sitting inside of a car.

Both the baby and the victim in the car were transported for non-life threatening injuries.

Hickman later died at the hospital.

Police believe Hickman was targeted, but they are still unsure if he's related to the 10-month-old.

"According to the detective, this is in no way a random incident. It was very much targeted. It appears that the gunmen approached, they knew exactly what they were doing. They knew exactly who they were shooting at," said Nicole Monroe, Baltimore City Police.

Keyworth Avenue has seen trouble before. In June, a 40-year-old man was found shot dead, just three blocks away from this crime scene. Police have not said if the 10-month-old baby is related to the man who was killed.

"We want those phone calls. Because we have to close this case. things like this just cannot happen. A 10-month-old baby was wounded," said Detective Monroe.

"We're talking about three individuals with an absolute disregard for human life," Baltimore Police Lt. Jarron Jackson.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Metro Crime Stoppers tip line, at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
