Md. Board Of Elections Projects 'Extremely High' Turnout

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Maryland Board of Elections tells WJZ that they are projecting 75 to 80 percent statewide turnout at the polls, which they call "extremely high."

By comparison, there was 74 percent turnout statewide in 2012.

Maryland voters are casting their ballots for president, Senate and House of Representatives in all eight districts. Baltimore voters are also electing a new mayor.

Following Senator Barbara Mikulski's retirement announcement, Maryland will get a new senator for the first time in nearly a decade, since Ben Cardin assumed office in January 2007.
