Davis, Machado Denied Rawlings Gold Glove Awards

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Orioles finalists Manny Machado and Chris Davis were both denied Gold Gloves, leaving the Orioles without a winner for the first time since 2010.

Machado, a two-time winner at third base in the American League, lost to the Rangers' Adrian Beltre and Chris Davis, a two-time finalist at first base, lost to the Rangers' Mitch Moreland.

Last year, Machado joined Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson as the only Orioles third basemen to win multiple Gold Gloves.

Gold Glove winners are selected by a vote of major league managers and coaches, accounting for 75 percent, as well as the SABR Defensive Index.

The Orioles have had multiple winners in four consecutive seasons before 2015.
