Locals React To Outcome Of Presidential Election

BALTIMORE (WJZ) --  Now that the election is over, many Maryland voters are anxiously awaiting to see what a Trump administration will bring.

It was certainly a surprise for many people that Donald Trump would be victorious in this presidential race, even one Republican telling WJZ reporter Marcus Washington it was a pleasant surprise.

At Double T Diner in Perry Hall, the election is still the hot topic for many people.

"And I just hope he keeps his promises: make america great again," said Joe Grove, Overlea.

"To make america great again, I think it's great now, and I think we all need to work to make it better, a lot better," said Willie Butler, Parkville.

When asking around, the one thing you can expect to hear often: jobs.

"The one thing that I think I can get with him on is not having jobs going overseas or to Mexico. Keeping American jobs in America and creating jobs," said Cathy Rose, Perry Hall.

"I hope he's got a plan and if he doesn't have a plan now, I hope that he has people that can help him with a plan," said Joe Grove, Overlea.

President-elect Trump's plan is something voters like Frank Neal and his son Jack hopes includes equal rights and opportunities for everyone.

"Like a woman's right to chose, equal pay for equal work, health care for the working poor. Those kind of issues have always been main for me," said Frank Neal, Parkville.

Voters won't be able to see any changes until after Trump takes his oath. Trump's inauguration is planned for January 20th.
