Father Charged for Stabbing Toddler Sons in PG Co.

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--  A father was arrested for stabbing his two toddlers in the family's home in District Heights, Maryland on Saturday night, according to WUSA 9.

Prince George's County police charged 25-year-old Christian Dillard with attempted first degree murder, assault and related charges.

Around 10:00 p.m., officers responded to Dillard's home where they found his two small children suffering from stab wounds and rushed them to the hospital for treatment.

They remain hospitalized and are in stable condition.

Police say no other family members who were home at the time. Dillard was at the scene when the officers arrived and was taken for an emergency evaluation. He has been released and is in custody of the Department of Corrections.

Dillard has also been charged with sexually assaulting a woman who lives in the family's home earlier on Saturday.

Dillard and the victim had a prior romantic relationship. Following the sexual assault, Dillard fled before officers arrived.

An investigation reveals the suspect returned home earlier in the evening.

The children were in the care of family members who were also home at the time.
