Police Need Help Identifying Mt. Vernon 7-11 Armed Robbery Suspect

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore Police are asking for help in identifying the man who robbed a Mount Vernon 7-Eleven convenience store last week, walking away with the cash register drawer.

Baltimore Police say it happened just after 9:30 p.m. on Monday, November 14 when a man armed with a handgun entered the 7-Eleven at the 500 block of North Charles Street.

In surveillance video from the store, the suspect approaches the clerk at the counter, appearing to want to purchase cigarettes, putting money down on the counter. The clerk gives him the pack of cigarettes, but when the clerk opens the register to give the man change, the man then puts the cigarettes away and pulls out his weapon and demands money from the clerk, pulling down the cash register screen and assaulting the clerk.

The man then reaches over the counter and pulls the drawer of cash from the open register and flees the store.

The suspect is described as a black male with medium complexion, in his early 30's to early 40's, approximately 5-feet-7-inches to 5-feet-10-inches tall, with medium build.
