Serial Bank Robbery Suspect Caught In Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, Md. (WJZ) -- The serial bank robbery suspect who had previously hit seven Baltimore-area banks is now in police custody, according to the FBI.

The serial bank robbery suspect was taken into custody without incident in Ocean City, Maryland, around 2:30 p.m.

"It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when someone calls in and says this is who it is and then we'll go get this guy off the streets," said Assistant Special Agent Scott Hinckley.

The string of robberies started October 19th at BB&T Bank in Pikesville. Soon after, the suspect hit banks in Parkville, Harbor East, Fells Point, and Locust Point.

The most recent robbery was over the weekend. The man captured on surveillance cameras robbing a Wells Fargo Bank in Linthicum in broad daylight.

"It makes me think like what else is safe, if you can't go into a bank, what's next," a Linthicum bank customer .

Investigators spoke about his tactics earlier this week.

"He'll go into the bank, approach the teller, provide a demand note," said FBI Special Agent Steve Skinner.

FBI Investigators say they will be releasing more details in the coming days.

The suspect's identity has not yet been released.
