Police: Searching For 'Armed & Dangerous' Robbery Suspect

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore County Police are now searching for a man, reported to be "armed and dangerous," suspected of two armed robberies in Baltimore City on Friday afternoon.

Baltimore County Police have identified Justin Andrew Montgomery as being suspected of robbing the two people. He is also reported to have been armed and barricaded himself  in an apartment in Arbutus. However, authorities entered the apartment, Montgomery was not inside.

Montgomery is wanted by police on charges of first-degree assault, a handgun violation, and related charges.

Police say Montgomery is a 29-year-old Caucasian male, five-foot-six  to six feet tall and 150 pounds. He is believed to be wearing a Ravens sweatshirt, and dark pants. Police say may also have a dark hoodie.

Baltimore County Police say around noon on Friday, officers were called to the 3600 block of Coolidge Avenue, near Saint Agnes Hospital, for reports of a robbery. The victim, a 67-year-old woman told police that a man entered her home without her permission. The suspect, who was armed with a knife, allegedly assaulted the woman, and took a gun and some money. The woman told police that the suspect was an acquaintance of hers.

By 12:15, officers were called to a home in the 3700 block of Clarenell Road in Violetville. Police say when officers arrived at this location, they spoke with a 74-year old man whose car had been stolen. The victim identified the suspect as the same man from the earlier robbery on Coolidge Avenue.

The victim told officers that the suspect forced his way into his home and displayed  a gun, and demanded the man give him his car keys. The suspect then left the location with the victim's car.

During the course of the investigation, officers received information that the suspect was currently inside a home in Arbutus.

Around 1 p.m., Police units responded to the 1000 block of Maiden Choice Lane, where the suspect was reported to be.

County Police investigators later learned that the suspect had pointed a gun at a person who lived in the apartment, telling the person to leave.

Police attempted to make contact with the suspect, but he did not respond. After hours of this reported barricade situation, police found just after 6:30 p.m. that the apartment in question was empty.

Baltimore County Police say investigators have obtained an arrest warrant for Montgomery in connection with the incident at his apartment, charging him with first-degree assault and a handgun violation, along with related charges.

Montgomery also faces charges in connection with the incidents in Baltimore City.

Baltimore County police are still searching for the suspect, now identified as Montgomery.

Police consider him armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about Justin Andrew Montgomery is asked to immediately call 911.
