Harbaugh Extremely Pleased With Ravens' Intentional Safety On Sunday

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Baltimore Ravens ended Sunday's win over the Bengals with some more fancy footwork.

Punter Sam Koch took the final snap then backpedaled, stopped, backpedaled some more, ran the clock down and then gave the Bengals two points in order to secure a 19-14 win with an intentional safety. Coach John Harbaugh was very pleased with the way it was executed.

A football game can't end on a defensive penalty, but it can end on an offensive penalty, like holding.

Harbaugh said each of the 10 Ravens blockers did a good job of identifying one Bengal to hold on the play during Sunday's attempt. Let's not forget, Harbaugh was a special teams coach before he came to Baltimore in 2007.

This wasn't the first time the Ravens gambled with the safety to put away a win. The Ravens also ran an intentional safety at the end of Super Bowl XLVII.
