Elderly Man Stabbed To Death In Southeast Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- An elderly man is robbed & stabbed to death a busy intersection in southeast Baltimore -- the crime all caught on camera. Now, police are asking for help from the community to track down the suspect.

A 73-year-old victim tries fighting off the suspect with his cane, as he's stabbed repeatedly. In the video, the suspect approaches the 73-year-old victim. When the elderly man turns his back, the suspect follows him, and then throws him down.

"It takes a real coward to one rob and then stab, a 73-year-old to the point where he dies," said Det. Donny Moses, Baltimore City Police.

The vicious assault happened near Pulaski Highway and Highland Avenue around 4 p.m. Friday. Now, police are asking for witnesses to help catch this ruthless suspect

"Some of the cars even slowed down while this was going on, and we need those people to come forward," said Det. Moses.

Police tell WJZ they believe the suspect is familiar to the area, possibly with a lengthy rap sheet.

"He struck this time, he struck before, and he will do this again if given the opportunity," said Det. Moses.

Working to track him down, before he attacks again. City police also say it does not appear the suspect knew the victim.
