Joe Flacco Lights Up The Miami Dolphins In The First Half

By Rahul Lal

Joe Flacco isn't typically considered amongst the elite quarterbacks statistically but has given every reason for NFL analysts and fans alike to see it differently in the early goings of week 13.

Flacco capped off the first half going 27/34 for 258 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. Even more impactful than the stats, Flacco has put the Ravens up 24-0 over the Miami Dolphins in what was anticipated to tough matchup.

Two of Flacco's touchdowns were to his trusted tight end, Dennis Pitta. The first touchdown pass of the game for Flacco came to his running back Terrance West who has been playing very well for a number of weeks now. Along the way, Flacco has connected with 10 different receivers for at least one reception.

The 34 attempted passes were the most this season in the first half of a game. Aaron Rodgers attempted 30 passes in week seven while Flacco had attempted 29 passes in weeks two and four as well.

The Ravens are sitting at the top of the AFC North tied for the lead with the rival Pittsburgh Steelers at 6-5. Barring a major breakdown, the Ravens will look to become 7-5 while pushing the 7-4 Dolphins to the same record. The Dolphins are currently in second place to the New England Patriots in the AFC East and are still looking for their slot in the playoffs as well.
