Did You Know?: Bill Belichick Was Supposed To Be First Ravens Coach

Did you know Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was supposed to hold that position with the Baltimore Ravens?

Twenty years ago, Art Modell announced that he was relocating his team from Cleveland to Baltimore, and three months later, he fired Belichick, then-head coach of the Browns, before the move.

Modell later hired former Baltimore Colts head coach Ted Marchibroda to lead the new Ravens team.

(Marchibroda was succeeded by Brian Billick, who was succeeded by current head coach John Harbaugh.)

It was the last time Belichick was fired. He was hired by the Patriots in 2000 and has won four Super Bowls there since.

Belichick has won four Super Bowls as the head coach of the New England Patriots.
