Police Charge Man with Murder After Finding Buried Body
FRUITLAND, Md. (AP) — Maryland State Police have charged a Wicomico County man with murder after finding a body buried in Fruitland.
Police announced in a statement Wednesday that they arrested 47-year-old Douglas Harlow in Salisbury on Tuesday night and charged him with first-degree murder, assault, improper disposal of a body and other offenses.
State police Lt. Ryan Bricker said at a media briefing Tuesday that someone contacted Fruitland police about a slaying that occurred nine months ago and gave police information that led them to a body buried between two homes.
State police spokeswoman Elena Russo says Harlow was living in a shed near the spot where a man's body was found.
Russo says an autopsy is being performed and police will release the victim's name once next of kin are notified.
