With the holidays just a few weeks away (gasp!) people are starting to think about taking family photos for their annual greeting cards. For many, this means finding the perfect location with a great backdrop to snap the one shot that all of your friends and family will see this year. Believe it or not, there’s a lot that goes into choosing where to take a holiday photo and we’re here to make it a little easier for you! Take a look at the following five places — they are the best locations for your annual holiday photos.

Federal Hill Park

Those looking for a scenic backdrop for their holiday photos need not look further than Federal Hill Park. One of Baltimore’s signature landmarks, Federal Hill Park is situated just south of downtown and a short walk from the Inner Harbor. It’s location offers one of the best views of the city, which makes for some really lovely pictures.

Sherwood Gardens

On the property of the Guilford Estate, the Sherwood Gardens over expansive areas of flower and plant life that change with the seasons. With six acres to explore, this private piece of land has been made open to the public.   “Approximately 80,000 tulip bulbs are planted annually along with other spring flowering bulbs. Dogwoods, flowering cherries, wisteria and magnolias bloom throughout the gardens. One will also enjoy the brightly colored azaleas and old English boxwoods which were particular favorites of Mr. Sherwood,” reports the Guilford Association website.

Patterson Park

Patterson Park is another fantastic location to take pictures for the holidays. The area is super popular amongst families who take advantage of the parks features (such as the serene lake) to use as the backdrops in their photos. The park has been described using words like “huge,” “beautiful,” and “vibrant,” which surely means that you’ll find exactly what you are looking for if you head on over with your family.

Druid Hill Park

If you are counting on some sort of body of water being in your photo, you should absolutely head to Druid Hill Park. The reservoir at the right time of day will reward you with some outstanding pictures. If you’re feeling like you want something more, head to the Moorish Tower for additional photos.

With 102 acres, there are plenty of spots to settle in for an awesome holiday photo at Double Rock Park in Baltimore. No matter what kind of scenery you’re looking for, there is something gorgeous nearby. The park has plenty of streams, paths, and other natural beauty for any holiday photo.
