Police: AA Co. Package Thieves Caught With Help From Neighbor, Helicopter

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A 17-year-old and a 19-year-old who stole $3,000 worth of packages were caught with the help of an observant neighbor and a police helicopter, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

On Tuesday around 4:30 p.m., the police department got a call from a person saying they saw two men stealing from the front step of an address in the 1000 block of Spring Hill Way in Odenton.

They advised that the suspects fled the scene in a red Dodge Charger.

Officers and a police helicopter responded to canvass the area.

A short time later, the chopper spotted the Dodge on Waugh Chapel Road, heading towards Route 3.

Officers on the ground conducted a traffic stop and in doing so, saw a package on the passenger's lap and several more elsewhere in the car, they say.

The packages were addressed to five different addresses in the Odenton and Gambrills area.

Both suspects were placed under arrest and charged, and all packages were returned to the rightful owners.

One of the suspects is a 17-year-old from Lanham, who is not being identified because he's a minor, and the other is 19-year-old Timothy Joseph Brunson, Jr., also of Lanham.
