BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Baltimore City fire crews are responding to a 4-alarm fire in the 3600 block of Clipper Road.

The fire erupted in a vacant warehouse near the JFX.

Fire officials say the massive 4-alarm fire began sometime around 9 p.m.

More than 100 firefighters are on the scene.

As a precaution, I-83 southbound has been shut down, as well as the light rail.

No homes have been evacuated yet.

“Upon arrival units found a 3-story vacant warehouse with heavy smoke and fire showing from the middle of the floor. Units right now are working diligently to extinguish the fire. They’re breaking down board doors and windows for ventilation,” says Baltimore Fire spokesman Blair Adams.

There’s no word yet on a cause.

  1. 39 pieces of apparatus. That is the ENTIRE city fire department. Thank you city hall for your greed by deleting units over the years. One would think a saving occurred by closing firehouses. NOT,NOT,NOT.. When the firehouses closed year by year. The command staff received HUGE raises for closing firehouses. Bonuses were given by Blake, O’Malley, Schmoke to a handful of their YES men with the money saved. Even O’Malleys bother received a a little extra when the drunk was placed as the city executive spokesperson. Schaefer built that fountain that devided Light Street at Harbor Place. The one the rats use to swim in during the Summer in lieu of layoffs of FireFighters. IF THE PUBLIC ONLY KNEW WHAT THE CRIMINALS AT CITY HALL HAVE DONE OVER THE YEARS. Keep voting in these criminals to stupid IDIOTS. Then wonder why your taxes go up . You might as well just sign a check payable to who occupies the Mayors chair.

  2. How much do you want to bet that someone that belongs to the Baltimore Business Committee ” THE TRUE OWNERS OF THE MAYOR AND CITY HALL” wants to build something to line their pockets on the exact site of the fire building. IT’S THE BALTIMORE WAY. Has been for decades…………….
