Baltimore Firefighters Respond to 4-Alarm Warehouse Fire

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Baltimore City fire crews are responding to a 4-alarm fire in the 3600 block of Clipper Road.

The fire erupted in a vacant warehouse near the JFX.

Fire officials say the massive 4-alarm fire began sometime around 9 p.m.

More than 100 firefighters are on the scene.

As a precaution, I-83 southbound has been shut down, as well as the light rail.

No homes have been evacuated yet.

"Upon arrival units found a 3-story vacant warehouse with heavy smoke and fire showing from the middle of the floor. Units right now are working diligently to extinguish the fire. They're breaking down board doors and windows for ventilation," says Baltimore Fire spokesman Blair Adams.

There's no word yet on a cause.
