Baltimore Police Investigate 2 Shootings; Son of Murdered Cop Killed

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Baltimore Police are investigating two shootings, one of which resulted in a man dying after being shot in the head.

The first incident occurred at about 10 p.m. in the area of Bolton Street and Lennox Avenue. Officers heard gunshots and searched the area and found evidence of a shooting in the 2000 block of Linden Avenue.

About 10 minutes later, officers learned that a 24-year-old man walked into a hospital with gunshot wounds sustained at the scene where police heard shots.

The second incident, about 40 minutes later,  occurred in the 3900 block of Wabash Avenue. Responding officers located Trayvon Chesley, 22, of the 3200 block of Dorithan Road, suffering from gunshot wounds to the head and body.

Medics pronounced the man dead at the scene. Police say the man's family were also at the scene.

The Baltimore Sun reports that Chesley is the son of City police officer Troy Chesley, who was killed in 2007.
