Officers found Whitehead, of Salisbury, around 7 a.m. Friday in the backyard of a home located in the 32,000 block of Flower Hill Church Road in Eden, Maryland.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe Brumskin used to live in the 32,000 block of Flower Hill Church Road in a home, where Whitehead's body was found in the backyard, about five houses down.

Police received a call from a neighbor who saw the body lying in the backyard.

Officers believe Brumskin's home was vacant at the time of the murder and learned he and Whitehead were involved in an alleged altercation earlier in the afternoon of the murder.

Brumskin has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, use of a handgun in the commission of a felony and reckless endangerment.
