Weather Blog: Sunny Sunday Expected

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Saturday turned out quite damp and dreary across the area with clouds and showers. Luckily, these showers have departed and will give way to a nicer end to the weekend.

High pressure is squeezing in-between two different storm systems on Monday. The first storm is a cut-off upper level low that will bring widespread rain and thunderstorms and flash flooding across the Southeast over the next few days.

The second storm is up into Canada and will bring a few rain and snow showers from the northern Plains to northern Maine into Monday.

The Southeast storm will begin to affect us early this week once this area of high pressure moves into the northern Atlantic. Prior to that, Sunday will feature sunshine and some high clouds.

This cut-off low will very slowly track northward up the coast which will gradually lead to an increase in clouds this evening and also chances for rain. It appears that any rain chances will wait until tonight in the city but can start as early as later this afternoon toward Washington D.C.
