The Biggest Charm City Bluegrass Festival Yet

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- From jam sessions to workshops to food and plenty of great music. It all happens Saturday in Druid Hill Park.

Ron Matz reports thousands are expected for the Annual Charm City Bluegrass Festival.

Fans call it the purest kind of music and they're ready to party in Druid Hill Park.

The park provides a natural amphitheater.

"Bands like Mumford and sons and the Avett brothers have taken the banjo and shine a new light on it, make it a little bit cooler than what it used to be thought about," says festival co-founder Jordan August.

This will be the biggest Charm City Bluegrass Festival yet. There will be three stages, 14 bands and 12 hours of music.

"Druid Hill Park became our home, and right next to the conservatory, it's a beautiful space," says festival co-founder Phil Chorney.

Even the folks at Center Cut Doughnuts in Hampden have a special festival, Sweet America Doughnut Festival.

"We have a speical doughnut. I tried to create the American flag in doughnut form. Its topped with blueberries and strawberries and a nice vanilla glaze so we get red, white and blue. It's called 'America sweet America'," says ays Josh Kowitz, owner of Center Cut Doughnuts.

"Its fun, its great music and it's a good time,"  he says.

Gates open at 10 a.m Saturday.
