Baseball Fans Are 'Bugging Out' Over Toasted Grasshoppers

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Why eat peanuts and Cracker Jacks when you can eat grasshoppers?

Seattle Mariner fans can't seem to get enough of the new menu item: toasted grasshoppers. The new food item, called Chapulines, has been selling out at Safeco Field.

The buggy treat is being sold by Mexican restaurant Poquitos. Forbes says that the Mariners sold over 13 pounds of grasshoppers at their home opener and have been selling out ever since.

The grasshoppers, which are said to taste like cayenne pepper and chili lime salt, are high in protein and gluten free.

The snack is only one dollar more at the ballpark than at the restaurant.
