Baltimore Boxing Champion Gervonta Davis Signs With Under Armour

BALTIMORE (WJZ) - Baltimore native and International Boxing Federation champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis  is quickly becoming the face of his division inside the ring. And now that face is proudly displayed in the heart of Charm City.

Under Armour put up a billboard portraying their newest signing, with the words "Baltimore's Own" displayed in bold white letters. The billboard, located on northbound I-95 between Canton Avenue and Russell Street exits has previously featured Baltimore legends Michael Phelps and Ray Lewis. Davis now joins that class of Baltimore's elite athletes.

The Baltimore-based sports apparel company announced Wednesday that they signed the fighter. Davis joins other Under Armour-signed boxers such as heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua of Great Britain and middleweight and light middleweight champion Canelo Álvarez of Mexico.

Promoted and mentored by boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, Davis is currently undefeated with an 18-0 record featuring 17 knockouts. The 22-year-old recently defended his title in London, defeating previously unbeaten Liam Walsh with a third round TKO.
