Md. State Police Investigating Fatal Tractor Trailer Crash In Mt. Airy

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Maryland State Police say a 78-year-old woman has died after being involved in a serious crash with a tractor-trailer.

Maryland State Police say Anna True, who was driving a 2006 Pontiac, crossed in front of the tractor trailer and was then hit by the trailer.

True died at the scene.

The tractor driver is 43-year-old Michael Garner of Churchill, Md. Investigators say Garner has non-life-threatening injuries.

Route 27 in Mount Airy has been closed in both directions due to the collision.

Investigators say the accident affected traffic on MD-27 between Ridge Road and Falling Green Way.

MD-27 is now open.
