BWI Resumes Normal Operations Following Police Investigation
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- BWI is reporting the investigation is over and flights are now resuming again after a temporary shutdown for security scare.
Some arriving and departing flights were not permitted to leave or enter as police investigated as a precaution.
BWI Communications Director Jonathan Dean says the daily garage at BWI was temporarily closed to investigate after a call came in for a number of unattended bags on the 8th level of the garage at 5:15 p.m.
Security officials were able to examine the bags and determined that they were not a threat.
However, due to another law enforcement investigation at a bank in Ferndale, the FAA ordered a temporary ground stop to all flights, which only caused minor delays.
The daily garage near the cell phone lot was temporarily closed for a police investigation but is now reopened.
