Smoke Alarms Credited For Saving Family From Apartment Fire In Montgomery Co.

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Fire officials say smoke alarms saved the lives of a Silver Spring family after a fire broke out in their home on Thursday.

A Montgomery County Fire spokesperson tweeted photos Saturday from the scene, writing smoke alarms went off in the four-level apartment building on Bel Pre Road.

Flames quickly spread through the ground floor unit. Firefighters responded to the scene and helped neighbors escape.

Officials say everyone who lived in the building got out safely.
