Police Believe Dispute Over Restaurant Bill Ended In Gunfire

OXON HILL, Md. (AP) — Police believe a dispute over a restaurant bill ended in gunfire that wounded two security guards in Maryland.

Prince George's County police said in a news release Thursday that 21-year-old Montana Artis and 19-year-old Tony Irene Marie Smith were customers at the restaurant.

News outlets report that police believe the pair got into a dispute with employees over their bill. They were escorted out of the restaurant by the security guards and, at some point Artis opened fire.

Police found one security guard suffering from a gunshot wound and another suffering from a graze wound. Neither injury was life-threatening.

Artis was charged with two counts of attempted murder and other offenses. Smith was charged with disorderly conduct and conspiracy after the fact. It's unclear if they have lawyers.
