I agree adn would select” Amelia EArhart, Susan B anthony, Rosa Parks, and Helen Keller as remarkable human beings who contributed not just to women but to society at large. Arts and entertainment are interesting but not necessarily inspirational and I believe the extragavances can lead some young minds into a false sense of value.

These woman are successful and a matriarch in what they do, because they have used their talents, gifts and intelligence. They have survived a mans world with their heels on..thats pretty darn influential. Even with their own personal struggles, , (Mother Teresa had them as well, she struggled with her faith, read her book ) they beat the odds by being successful and raising above all odds while maintaining their integrity and self. As my son says..”haters gotta hate”..

Alison, I do think we expect more of the same (but ednfireft!). I think it\’s been so long since I read Kevin that I was more open to this novel, and had ednfireft expectations. So the expectations were more about great writing and deep characterisation than story, perhaps. I know the same can be comforting but does get boring – it\’s why I have given up on Evanovich\’s Stephanie Plum novels.

Stacy – Boy do I know that feeling well. These are 3 wedonrful lost treasures, I’m happy you found them again . I wouldn’t consider the last one an out-take by any means, it’s wedonrful family shot.

Dave, good points. I think you have hit upon the key enlemet: it is like email, but it has planning and task tracking capability. My overview of social tools with/without task tracking is here: Another key is that like email and telephones, the ACM needs to be deployed as an infrastructure and not as focused applications. It is a basic capability that knowledge workers live in. They need to have the assurance that all others in their organization have access to it as well. If some people in your organization did not have access, then you would have to remember to never assign tasks to them, and you could never trust that task assignment would work when assigning to new, unfamiliar people. For it all to work, it needs to be ubiquitous.
