Over a three day period, the wrestler killed his wife and son before hanging himself. His wife was bound before the killing, his son was drugged and likely unconscious before Benoit strangled him.

The former actor was accused of killing his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, and put under arrest a year after the crime. He was eventually found not guilty despite two men saying he tried to hire them to commit the murder.
