Jay Z led the nominations with nine nods, followed closely by Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis with seven noms each.
Lorde is the latest addition to this weekend’s star-studded GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night.
The GRAMMY Hall of Fame was established in 1973 to honor recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance that are at least 25 years old. According to GRAMMY.org, inductees are selected by a “special member committee of eminent and knowledgeable professionals from all branches of the recording arts.”
The hour-long special, airing on CBS, will also feature Maklemore & Ryan Lewis and the announcement of this year’s GRAMMY nominees.
Carole King will join the ranks of Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney and Barbra Streisand to be celebrated in January as the 2014 MusiCares Person of the Year.
CBS will air the sixth annual GRAMMY Nominations Concert live on Friday, Dec. 6 at 10 p.m. ET.
