The Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers are two of the NFL’s most iconic franchises and they battle in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. Here is a look at the Packers heading into the big game.
The Green Bay Packers do not have to play this Sunday. That is a good thing as quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be able to get some extra rest before the Packers begin their run toward the Super Bowl. They will host one of three teams in the Divisional Round. Their opponent will be determined by the outcome of the Detroit Lions at Dallas Cowboys game.
This is not because Rodgers beat Brady last week. The game was whisker-close and you could easily argue that the Patriots would win a rematch on a neutral field. This is about stats, scent, and sense.

It was another Thursday night blowout, as the Packers dominated the Vikings 42-10 last night in Green Bay. The Packers moved to 3-2, while Minnesota is 2-3, struggling on offense without Teddy Bridgewater, who was inactive with a sprained ankle.
These two bitter rivals will lock horns at Lambeau Field tonight in a key early-season NFC North showdown.
Will this contest between NFC North rivals be the first competitive Thursday night game of the season?
It’s easy to pencil the Seahawks as back-to-back Super Bowl champs after their 36-16 beat-down of the Packers last night. Or to think Green Bay is a shadow of the franchise that won it all in 2011 and hasn’t reached the conference championship since.
Brian Baldinger of NFL Network joined Scott, Jeremy and Jason to preview the NFL Opener between the Green Bay Packers and Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. Brian believes that tonights game could be great matchup. “We get to see two great quarterbacks on the field in a great environment. I think they picked great matchup to kind of kickoff the season with because anybody who watched Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers in the preseason, they know that these two guys are ready to go, and they have a great surrounding cast around them.”
Fantasy football players are also ready to go all-in on Thursday night. Finding favorable matchups in the first game on the schedule each week gives a player a big edge going into Sunday.
The risk NFL Players take is high, but for the successful players who can stay healthy & deliver for their teams under high pressure the rewards are massive.
